Corrections for battery use and location

For your item, the battery component is listed as 'is_battery', but should instead be 'powers equipment'. Once you select this option, the Portal will ask you whether or not it is inside the equipment and if it is removable. 

To make edits:

Open and log-into the Product Intelligence Platform (PIP): portal.smartersorting.com

On the left, select Pending Requests and this UPC will be listed with an orange ‘corrections needed’ status. Click and open the UPC.

 

Once the item has opened, scroll down to the components section and select ‘Edit Details’ for the Battery component.

Scroll to the bottom, and update the dropdown below 'Does this battery power another component of the product?'. Change the dropdown to 'Yes, an Electronic'.

Then, select the proper option for 'How is this battery configured in the point-of-sale product/package?'

Save the component. Please also ensure that your electronic component says it is powered by a battery. 

Once you have made all edits, resubmit the item for classification.
