How do I register a multi-item product?

Multi-component products/kits

 

 

When evaluating products, it's not uncommon to find multiple components that require individual evaluation. In these cases, our Product Intelligence Platform allows you to input and classify each component separately, ensuring the most accurate and comprehensive results. You'll need to provide the necessary details and documentation for EACH component that may be subject to regulation. Our team will work with you to ensure that all relevant components are properly represented and entered.

 

Basic requirements

 

1. Basic product information: You’ll need the Consumer Facing UPC and Product Name. This represents the full product - the product the consumer buys. You’ll have an opportunity to input the details for each component as you work through the registration. Please name each component something unique, this ensures your retailer properly disposes of each component within the UPC. 

 

2. Other product details: You’ll need the Weight or Volume of each component of the product and the Unit of Measurement.

 

Documentation

 

Depending on the types of components that make up your product, you’ll need the appropriate documentation described here.

 

1. If a component requires a Safety Data Sheet (SDS), you’ll need a PDF version to upload.
2. If a component runs on electricity, you’ll need a PDF version of the User Manual or Spec Sheet.
3. If a component is a battery, you’ll need a PDF version of the applicable documentation.
   1. Battery SDS or Article Information Sheet (AIS) for ALL batteries
   2. UN 34.3 Testing Document for Lithium Ion and Lithium Metal batteries
4. If a component requires an EPA Permit, you’ll need the registration ID and a PDF version of the permit to upload.

 

Ingredients and formulation details

 

• For formulated components, you need the publicly available ingredients, as required.
• For formulated components, ingredients should be input in descending order of concentration, as mandated by product type.
• Additionally, you should be prepared to report CAS numbers for each ingredient (as applicable) and a concentration range for required ingredients.
• Finally, depending on your product, you may be asked for additional details such as a Flashpoint, pH, Building point or form.
• For battery components, you’ll be asked for other details such as Cell Count and Watt Hour Rating, depending on type.

 

How do I input the information into the platform?

 

The process of manually inputting information into our Product Intelligence Platform is quick and intuitive. Start with the basic information for the kit. Then, add and label your components using the component cards. For each component, you’ll be prompted for the specific information and documentation needed to get through the process.
